Jupiter students proudly display spirit flag after their first victory.
Walsworth yearbook started with a bang on Monday, Jupiter High School screamed the loudest During the presentation, any question asked always resulted in a response from Jupiter.
Jupiter students have gone around personally greeting people and introducing themselves. During dinner, they went around each table in hopes of making small talk.
”I like being recognized,” Jupiter’s yearbook staff member Wade Del Portal said, “but it’s all [about making] it a great experience for everyone.”
Last year’s overall spirit winner, Oviedo High School, was called to the stage to give the 2023 spirit flag. That’s when Jupiter screamed and cheered in excitement and ran to get the flag and ran around the crowd in celebration of their win.
Del Portal had some self-doubt when it came to announcing the contestant winners. “I thought it had more to do with the competition last night as opposed to just having good energy. But I’m happy that we won,” Del Portal said.
What motivated them to win the spirit award was having the same feelings as if it were school spirit week. They were more than content to bring that school spirit to Camp Orlando.
Winning today, Jupiter High will continue spreading its energy by having “Good Vibes Only,” which Camp Orlando is aiming to promote this summer.
