Kai Race is a rising sophomore at Boone High School who embraces his love for basketball, Star Wars and his band, Buckett.

This will be Race’s first year on staff for newspaper but is familiar with journalism as he did sports journalism his freshman year. Race is the guitarist and temporary singer in his home band, “Buckett” and is joined with friends who also plays the guitar and bass and hopefully a new drummer- as the previous one was recently fired.

Race looks forward to improving his journalistic skills, but more importantly focusing on his band in the upcoming years.

“[I look forward to] going on tour,” Race said. “I want to go out and show the world how great of a guitar player I am.”
