The Lady Jags flag football team left the Pines Charter endzone winning their district game against the David Posnack Jewish Day Rams. With touchdowns by sophomore Madison Ojeda and senior Jasmyn Daniels, they led the team to a blow out victory of 19-0.
“It felt amazing, ” says team captain Kiara Gomez. “Winning our 4th consecutive district championship with my girls after all the hard work felt so rewarding.” Making it so far into the 13-3, winning season, the Lady Jags’ hard work has been paying off. Along with intense practice and focus, team bonding has had a huge impact on and off the field. Kiara explains how they all have “each other’s backs and that’s what will help us the most to achieve our goals.”
“The team’s goal moving forward is to win regionals and move on to states” voices wide receiver Jocelyn Garcia.
In hopes of taking it to the next level and continuing the season strong, the Lady Jags will face the Somerset Academy Panthers on our very own Charter field Wednesday, April 17th.
