Brit Taylor is the Journalism teacher at Hagerty high school, and he has been inspiring students for 34 years. He teaches his students digital design, photojournalism, and foundations of journalism.He also does yearbook, newspaper, LitMag, and the online website at his school.  Taylor discovered his passion for journalism when he was studying accounting at the University of Florida. While enrolled, he realized he didn’t enjoy balancing spreadsheets and math, and realized he needed a change of pace. After working at a summer camp for restraining kids pre-juvie, he fell in love with journalism and switched to an English major. “Long story short, I loved it. Journalism was great, and I found some purpose in it ever since I switched my major and decided I wanted to work with young people.” Outside of teaching, he likes to visit National Parks with his family, play pickleball and computer games, and he enjoys watching shows like The Bear and Game of Thrones.
