Zoey Ellzey, Wiregrass Ranch High School
Zoey Ellzey is a 12th grader at Wiregrass Ranch High School. She has been involved in journalism for three years, and is focused on graphic design and social media. Her favorite thing about journalism is uncovering stories that would otherwise remain hidden. Her music taste has evolved over the years, from R&B to a mix of old Katy Perry songs, a personal favorite being “The One that got away.” She uses her journalism skills to create engaging Instagram posts and stories. When asking her how journalism impacts society today she said “It’s very important to be aware of what’s going on, and having the ability to analyze and having the right mindset on research, especially like trying to be open-minded…As a journalist, you learn to be more open-minded with ideas and concepts that you’re not exactly like comfortable with, but you learn to like adapt and kind of think outside the box.”
